Denmark Brings Us Post Apocalyptic Short ‘Connected’
Found this one over at Twitch today. A group of friends in deserted Faxe Kalkbrud, Denmark have made what looks like a totally awesome post apocalyptic short film, complete with a retro sci fi poster and support from the Danish Film Institute. Directors Jens Raunkjær Christensen and Jonas Drotner Mouritsen have collaborated to put together what they’re calling “a sci-fi western with a tiny budget, but huge ambitions”. Apparently this movie has been finished for a while and screened at a few festivals around Denmark, but I just came across it today so I figured I’d give it a mention. I love little movies like this. It’s the visionaries behind these smaller, do-it-yourself flicks that really make an impact on the art of film making; directors who actually have an imagination and want their ideas to be seen by all, rather than just make truck loads of money. So here’s to you, Danish indie film makers, for taking a shoestring budget and some ingenuity and turning it into a pretty cool looking sci fi flick. Check out the synopsis and trailer below and links at the bottom of the post to find out more.
Set in the distant future, Connected is a story about survival and greed with a post apocalyptic wasteland as its backdrop. Survivors of an unknown disaster shuffle through a desolate landscape, as it quickly becomes clear that not everybody has the strength to survive.
