Awesome Posters For “House of The Devil’ and ‘Frozen’
At exactly 11am today (central, of course) Mondotees.com are putting up two fantastic looking posters for Ti West’s vintage babysitter horror flick House Of The Devil and Adam Green’s (Hatchet) newest Sundance hit Frozen. Both posters are by a group know as The Silent Giant and will be hand numbered and signed by the artists themselves. They sell for $25 a piece, but you need to move quickly because only 100 prints are available for House Of The Devil and 65 for Frozen.
House Of The Devil was likely the best horror movie to come out last year (I’m not counting Antichrist as a horror film), and by far one of the most surprising and exciting viewing experiences I had in 2009. Based on the horror flicks of yesteryear, Ti West’s vintage slasher centers on a young and beautiful babysitter who takes a job that strangely coincides with a lunar eclipse. She soon realizes that her clients have other plans for her. The real selling point, however, is the aesthetic and tone of the movie, taking viewers back to the glory days of awesome psychological horror, reminiscent of Polanski and even Kubrick’s The Shining. I’d urge any fan of horror or old school films to get a hold of House of The Devil. You can even buy it on VHS!

I’ve yet to see Adam Green’s Frozen, but after his instant cult sensation Hatchet, I’m expecting something pretty awesome. It’s been getting pretty good reception at Sundance, and most of the reviews I’ve read have been positive. The plot sounds like one of those movie ideas that, in the right hands, could be absolutely fantastic, but if done the wrong way, would be completely miserable. Check out the synopsis via IMDb: Three skiers are stranded on a chairlift and forced to make life-or-death choices that prove more perilous than staying put and freezing to death.
