Awesome Trailer For Croatian Indie ‘The Show Must Go On’
Here’s one that looks pretty dang interesting. Croatian director Nevio Marasovic has put together something entirely original and extremely poignant. There isn’t much information on the film that I could find, but thanks to the good old internets and google translator I was able to pull the plot synopsis off of a Croatian website. The trailer is pretty self explanatory, but some of the finer details are revealed in the brief summary I found. It doesn’t look like we’ll be seeing this one in the states or on DVD anytime soon, but according to agentorange over at QuietEarth, they’re currently looking for a DVD screener. So hopefully the news spreads on this one and word gets out. I’d love to be able to see this for myself at some point. Check the trailer above and synopsis below.
The story follows the ambitious and successful producer Filip Dogan, who is producing a reality show called “Housed” in Zagreb 10 years in the future. The show is very similar to The Big Brother, but “Housed” lasts for 180 days, where 6 couples live together in a house built for the series. The plot begins when during the show a new world war begins on the outside, which in short time envelops all of Europe and turns it into a battlefield. Filip Dogan focuses all his efforts to keep the contestants in the dark about the truth of the outside world, in the beginning out of sheer show rate mongering, and after out of emotional bond with the contestants and compassion for them.
